Tianjin Port Engineering Institute Co., Ltd. of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. was established in 1959 and is currently under the umbrella of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Fortune Global 500 company “China Communications Construction Company” (CCCC). As one of the earliest research institutes founded in China, the institute adheres to the vision of being industry-leading, domestically first-class, and internationally renowned. Over the years, it has developed into a comprehensive research institute that integrates research, survey, design, monitoring, testing, evaluation, consulting, and construction. The institute boasts several research platforms, including the “Key Laboratory of Port Geotechnical Engineering Technology in the Transportation Industry,” the “Key Laboratory of Port Geotechnical Engineering Technology in Tianjin,” the “Key Laboratory of Geotechnical Engineering of China Communications Construction Company,” and the “Key Laboratory of Coastal Engineering Hydrodynamics of China Communications Construction Company.” It is also a co-building unit of the “National Engineering Laboratory for Port Hydraulic Structure Technology,” the “Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Land Reclamation and Soft Soil Engineering,” and the “Key Laboratory for Underwater Tunnel Construction and Maintenance Technology in Tianjin.” Furthermore, the institute has established a postdoctoral research station and collaborates with several universities such as Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Hohai University, Dalian University of Technology, and Tianjin Chengjian University for postdoctoral joint training and research cooperation.

中交天津港湾工程研究院有限公司始建于1959年，现隶属于中交第一航务工程局有限公司，是世界500强“中国交建”旗下的重点科研开发机构。作为新中国最早成立的科研院所之一，港研院秉承行业领先、国内一流、国际知名的企业愿景，已经发展成为集科研、勘察、设计、监测、检测、评估、咨询、施工于一体的综合性研究院。港研院拥有“港口岩土工程技术交通行业重点实验室”、“天津市港口岩土工程技术重点实验室”、“中国交建岩土工程重点实验室”和“中国交建海岸工程水动力重点实验室”等多个科研平台，是“港口水工建筑技术国家工程实验室”、“吹填造陆与软土工程教育部工程研究中心”和“天津市水下隧道建设与运维技术企业重点实验室”的共建单位之一。设有博士后科研工作站，并与清华大学、天津大学、河海大学、大连理工大学、天津城建大学等多所大学开展博士后联合培养与科研合作。
